#emmahub Warsaw 2023

The first emmahub workshop, initiated by EMMA member Dr. Anna Jupowicz Ginalska, was held at the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, on 16–17 November 2023.

The workshop focused on the European media’s response to the war in Ukraine, examined through the perspectives of media management and media economics.

#emmahub Berlin 2024

Following the first meeting in Warsaw, the second emmahub workshop took place in Berlin from 13–15 November 2024, hosted by Macromedia University of Applied Sciences.

The workshop centred on the theme “Media Management and Migration”, with a particular focus on media-making by and for diasporic communities.

#emmahub Istanbul 2025

The third emmahub workshop took place in Istanbul in 2025 and addressed the growing complexities of media production, audience engagement, and sustainability within increasingly polarized media systems.

Particular attention was given to the evolving relationship between legacy and non-legacy media actors. The workshop explored how young audiences are increasingly engaging with influencers, content creators, and independent digital platforms, challenging the long-established dominance of traditional media institutions.
