Budapest Balkans Youth Forum - call for applications

We are pleased to announce the call for applications for the third Budapest Balkans Youth Forum (BBYF), which will take place from March 9 to 14, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary. Organized as a side event of the prestigious Budapest Balkans Forum—the flagship conference of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs—the BBYF offers a unique opportunity for young leaders and scholars to engage with critical issues shaping the future of Central and Southeast Europe.

This year’s Youth Forum will focus on the theme of Advancing Infrastructure Development and Fostering Regional Cooperation across Central and Southeast Europe. Over the course of the program, participants will engage in dynamic workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions led by experts and practitioners in the field. The event aims to equip participants with a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to infrastructure development and regional integration within frameworks such as Visegrád Four (V4), Three Seas Initiative (3SI), and Southeast Europe Six (SEE6).

The BBYF is open to:

• University students (MA and PhD levels), recent graduates, and young professionals under the age of 30.
• Citizens of the following countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Applications from outside these countries will be considered in exceptional cases.
• Individuals with a demonstrated interest in social and political sciences, particularly in the connectivity and regional cooperation opportunities in Central and Southeast Europe.
• Candidates with a high-level command of written and spoken English.
• Enhance their professional network and expand their career opportunities.
