PristupačnostPredavanje pod nazivom Political and legal aspects of transformation in the Polish media system održat će se u četvrtak 21.05.2015. u 12:00 sati u predavaoni Seminar I.
The lecture is planned to show problems of the constitutional transformation in Poland in the field of media studies. Nowadays the form of media in future is discussed, especially the functioning of the public television or a problem receiving or refusal to give concessions. Lecture will be divided into three parts. The first will have a historical value, presenting the process of changes at the end of the People’s Republic of Poland, which was finished by negotiations called “the Round Table” in 1989. The second part will analyze the theme of building a modern media system, particularly the legislative process leading to the enactment of the Broadcasting Act and its numerous amendments. There will be also presented other legal acts concerning this field, along with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. The lecture will cover as well other important issues are crucial for the Polish media system and problems related to technological progress, the role and the importance of ethics etc. will be addressed. The last issue is the genesis of the coexisting public and private media, as well as their contemporary problems and challenges.
PhD Marta Polaczek-Bigaj (born in 1982 in Cracow), Master of Political Science and Master of Law, PhD at Political Science. Works as an assistant in Institute of Political Science and International Relations at Jagiellonian University. The main task of scientific projects and researches is to join two fields of interest – law and political science. Subject area of research concentrates on problems of Polish media system transformation.
The author or many articles related to Polish media system regarding the legal ethic aspects and their functioning in Poland, the process of liquidation of the Workers’ Publishing Collective “Prasa-Książka-Ruch”, legal aspects of functioning of medias in Poland etc. In 2013 her first monograph was published – Political and legal aspects of transformation in the Polish media system.
