Opis i ciljevi projekta

While formal education in Europe remains the responsibility of national or even regional governments and authorities, it is clear that many of the challenges faced by young people are shared across the continent. Digital and media literacy are important competencies for all citizens across Europe. For this reason, the availability of compelling educational material for youngsters is ever more important.                  In order to tackle major societal challenges, the integration of rich European audiovisual content into educational material and platforms can make such material far more attractive and effective.
EDUMAKE wants to work on this challenge: the creation of compelling educational material on important societal challenges at the European level, seamlessly integrating high-quality audiovisual content and interactive engagement strategies. In order to achieve this, EDUMAKE does not start from scratch. It is based in an innovative interactive educational format delivered by teachers in the classroom, EDUbox, developed by VRT, and aiming to strengthen key competences in young people to engage in European societal themes, from disinformation to democracy. 
EDUMAKE will translate and contextualise several key EDUboxes to other countries and languages, create a do-it-yourself toolkit to develop new EDUboxes and put the knowledge together to create an EDUbox on major European societal challenges such as the SDGs.
EDUMAKE brings together a strong consortium of 5 key players. Based on VRT's format and experience, VRT (EDUbox), NTR (schooltv) and FPZG will develop localized eduboxes in the Netherlands and Croatia, validating the replicability of the concept in other countries. MLA and IMEC will serve as expert, dissemination and distribution partners in the consortium, actively engaging the European ecosystem.
