Syllabus, readings, and assignments

Dear students,

Firt of all my appologies for not being able to put the syllabus and the readings as announced last week. Unfortunately, I had a couple of unexpected problems. First, my laptop died on Saturday and I had to retrive all the data to the new one as well as asking our administration to provide me with new accesses to the Intranet, and it took some time, as usual. On the other hand, due to the circumstances of war in Ukraine, I had to try to do my best to contact my friends over there and try to help them to get out from the war zones. Unfortunatelly I was able to help only one family, not the other that left stuck north from Kyiv. And that's, of course, very disturbing.

Now, since we have the class on Thursday, it's not much time but hopefully enough to make the assignment for the seminar, the assignment that is for all. You have to bring your 1 page assignment printed out to the class. Also, for those willing to make an extra assignment for one of the two films for the class, you are welcomed. It will be also counted toward your total points from assignments.

Please read the syllabus carefully. It might be confusing at first, but I think it's not really. Also, regarding your presentations. As I said during our first meeting, you have to find the film from the syllabus that you want to present about and apply for your presentation via our class email: polscifi@gmail.com  You can find in the syllabus the details how to make your choices for your presentation (3-5 films from the syllabus). We are starting with student's presentations from next week. Please make your presentation preferences until mid March and send them to the email. If you have any other question related to the class you can also write to the email.

Best,

Hrvoje Cvijanovic

Associate Professor
