SIM-NATO 2013 Conference

Association for International Cooperation and Dialogue – AFICAD, an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental and non-profit organization, invites you to the first unique SIM-NATO 2013 Conference, which will take place in Belgrade from November 11th to November 15th.

The Summit will be organized on the principle of students taking roles of NATO diplomats, in order to represent different countries and debate current world issues. Working languages of the SIM NATO Conference are English and French. The leading principle, motto and central idea of the Summit is: “Youth as a part of the new political leadership for 21st century”.

The SIM-NATO 2013 Model is a unique conference of its kind in this region. SIM-NATO 2013 gathers undergraduate and postgraduate students from all over the world, for a five-day summit based on the simulation of discussion on various topics of the NATO Organization. On that occasion, students will be taking the roles of diplomats. SIM-NATO offers you one of the most important educational experiences, an efficient tool for studying about world complexity, about how the international community is facing current economic and environmental problems, about human rights violations, disarming, political conflicts and other globally important issues. We offer you an opportunity to improve your communication skills, perfect your knowledge about other countries, pass resolutions and improve the ways of settling conflicts and developing negotiations. We prepare new diplomats and future leaders from all over the world.

The SIM-NATO 2013 Model is a five-day simulation resting on every aspect of the NATO policy. Students will gain valuable experience by taking the roles of MPs, ministers and lobbyists, through which they will have a chance to experience law-making discussions in a diplomatic manner. It is an educational experience which will give students a unique opportunity to get to know better the rules of decision-making, debating and lobbying. Not only will this experience enable you understanding of political cooperation, but it will also bring closer the multicultural aspect of the community.
